Welcome
Liberty United adds online multiplayer to GTA III. Join a community server from the browser (PC) or the app (Android), play with other people in Liberty City, or host your own server and write your own game mode with Squirrel scripting.
- PC and Android players on the same servers
- Server scripting: events, GUI, dialogs, NPCs, timers
- Custom vehicles, skins, map objects and map files sent by the server
- Shared traffic and pedestrians
- Automatic client updates
How to play
PC
You need GTA III for PC (1.0 or 1.1). Download LU.exe, put it next to gta3.exe and run it. Choose a name and a server — the browser downloads the matching client by itself. (Windows may warn about a new file: More info → Run anyway.)
Android
Download and open the APK (allow installs from your browser if asked), start the app, and let it download the game data on the first run (use Wi-Fi). Pick a server and press Play. New versions are offered inside the app.
Host a server
Download the Windows or Linux server package, edit server.conf and open the UDP port (default 2301). Your game mode goes in Scripts/<name>/ and is listed in LU/content.xml; a small starter script is included. The Linux build is 32-bit (on 64-bit systems install libc6-i386). See the scripting manual for every event and function.

A client must match the server’s version, so older releases stay available.
